Position Student Employee - Science Peer Tutor Department: Academic Support Center Classification: Part-time non-benefit eligible Rate: State minimum wage Location: Lisle, Campus
Responsibilities: Seeking students that have taken and excelled in science courses to provide tutoring for one or more of the following: • General Biology • Genetics • Microbiology • Human Physiology • Human Anatomy • General Chemistry • Organic Chemistry • Analytical Chemistry • Biochemistry • Physics
Provide support by answering student questions from science courses listed above.
Required Qualifications: Must have completed the course for which you will be tutoring at Benedictine University with grade of B or above. Must submit a resume. Must submit a letter of recommendation from a Benedictine professor who taught you the course. Instruct the professor to email recommendation to clarsen@ben.edu. Must be a currently enrolled Benedictine student in good standing.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: • Talk or hear • Stand • Walk • Use hands to touch, handle, or feel • Reach with hands and arms This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds. Use of computer screen, phone, and customer service. May require bending or sitting for long periods of time.

Training: As a University employee, you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
