Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to perform duties to assist Environmental Specialists with daily tasks including inspections, field monitoring, quality control, data entry, report writing, date analysis, assist with Sustainability and Climate Control policy.
Position is for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform storm water inspections of city outfalls.
- Conducts stream monitoring.
- Enter data for water quality programs and create reports.
- Assisting with educational programs such as Get Fit and Storm Water Education
- Customer service - interaction with citizens and employees
- Performing various other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Environmental Quality Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; an individual in pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Environmental, Geology, or similar field. Recent graduates will also be considered.
- Valid Texas Class C Drivers License
- Must have flexibility to work after hours and weekends
For city employees who are regular part time (10-19 hours per week) or seasonal hired placed on City payroll, the following benefits are provided:
- PARS - Public Agency Retirement System: the employee contributes 6.2% each paycheck to this retirement system and the city provides 1.3%. The employee does not pay into Social Security. All of the employees contributions may be withdrawn upon separating service from the city. The Citys contributions will not be paid unless the employee retires under the system.
- Part time or seasonal employees are not eligible for any paid leave or other benefits.
- Part time or seasonal employees are limited to working only 1,000 hours per 12-month period, unless the seasonal is project based for a specific period of time which is typically less than 12-months.
