Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems is hiring student interns to assist with off-campus stormwater monitoring, field testing, and laboratory testing and analysis. The position supports ongoing stormwater management research as part of PennDOTs I-95 Girard Avenue Interchange Reconstruction Project.
The student intern would complete lab and/or field work to support stormwater sampling and flow and soil measurements.
Laboratory work includes:
- Soil classification testing
- Data management and analysis
- Maintaining a safe and clean lab
- Preparing samples and equipment
Field work may include:
- Assisting graduate students with maintaining field sites
- Collecting samples
- Installing/maintaining equipment
- Infiltration testing
Requirements
- Attention to detail
- Able to follow directions
- Science or engineering major preferred
- Previous lab experience a plus
- Critical thinking skills in order to work safely in the lab and field
Additional InformationPhysical Demands Summary
- Must be willing to complete repetitive tasks in the lab and/or field and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in uncomfortable field conditions such as extreme temperatures, humidity, and/or rain.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
