Underground Miner

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Mine Shift Supervisor, the Underground Miner is responsible for underground mine construction, Bull Gang activities, utility installation, equipment operation, and general support of mine development. This is a dynamic, hands-on position requiring an individual who is adaptable, dependable, and willing to perform a wide variety of underground construction and support tasks while maintaining the highest standards of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Essential Functions
Safely operate underground mobile equipment including loaders (muckers), scissor decks, telehandlers, light vehicles, and other underground support equipment.
Complete thorough pre-operational workplace inspections and equipment pre-shift examinations.
Maintain equipment in safe operating condition and promptly report mechanical or safety concerns.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while following all company safety policies and procedures.
Identify, recognize, and safely scale loose ground and other underground hazards.
Perform underground utility work, including:
Complete the installation and hanging air lines, water lines, and discharge lines.
Install and maintain ventilation fans, hard line and vent bag.
Install, change, and maintain underground pumps.
Perform general underground maintenance and repairs.
Maintain current inventory of supplies at the mine site, both underground and on surface.
Coordinate with shifters for restocking needed supplies.
Maintain inventory of proper needed tools needed for the job under lock and key
Safely and proficiently use shovels, scaling bars, cutters, and other hand tools.
Coordinate daily activities with the Mine Supervisor and other departments as needed.
Complete all required workplace inspections, documentation, and operational paperwork accurately and on time.
Assist wherever needed to support changing priorities during the mine startup.
Maintain company equipment, tools, and work areas to the highest standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
