Position Overview
The Underground Water/Sewer Installer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground water and sewer utility lines. This role involves working with excavation crews, operating equipment, and ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain underground water and sewer piping systems.
- Excavate and backfill trenches using hand tools and heavy equipment.
- Connect service lines to main lines and perform tie-ins.
- Work safely as part of a team to complete projects on time and with high quality.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and occasionally customers.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in underground utility installation (water/sewer) preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and trench safety practices.
- Ability to operate excavation equipment a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
- Physically able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
