Starting at $30.00-$35.00/per hour DOE
-Overtime 1.5x after 40hrs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including:
• Background Check
• MVR Check (Clean driving record)
• Drug screen

RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ UnionDiesel Mechanicto perform maintenance and repairs on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks.
+ Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
+ Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
+ Completes required paperwork utilizingfleet maintenance softwareprogram associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
+ Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
+ Performs diagnostics and repairs on engine, aftertreatment, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V and CAN)
+ Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
+ Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
+ Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:
+ Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required)
+ 3+year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair
+ Providepersonal tools.
+ Class B CDL OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment if required.
+ Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
+ Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:**
+ Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
+ Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.
+ Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position.
+ Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
+ The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
