CBRE has the following job opening available in Murray Hill, NJ Candidates will be interviewed for qualifications. Factors to be considered include prior work experience and depth of knowledge via interview results.
Key purpose
The Instrument Control Mechanic is expected to provide a variety of industrial maintenance activities across a wide spectrum of fields such as chiller maintenance, steam systems, high voltage power systems and other commercial/industrial equipment. Will be required to interface with client, vendors and contractors.
Job Activities (Specific roles may vary slightly depending upon location and client).
Electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of motor control center motors (up to 4160 V), power panels (up to 480 volts), instrumentation and control circuitry
Clean and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Perform boiler maintenance of controls and equipment (up to 2175 hp)
Inspect troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate pneumatic, electro-pnuematic and motor operated valves across a variety of manufacturers
Maintain and repair all aspects of building steam and chilled water systems
Maintain cooling tower related gear boxes, fans, wooden frames, etc.
Maintain and repair equipment such as Air scrubbers, tank mixers and water containment systems a Sanitary and storm sewer systems (including jetting of lines)
Wastewater treatment systems
AC components controls and compressors
Air handles, exhaust fans, Liebert's and fan coils
Variable Air Volume, mixing boxes and related HVAC equipment
Pumps and motors up to 250 hp (could include installation)
Lab and Clean Room Support including
Rebuilding piping that uses acid
Running special control lines
Repair and install electrical elements and other equipment to withstand extreme temperatures
Repair specialized lab equipment
Perform electrical maintenance including power circuits, conduit, backup systems etc.
Inspect and maintain emergency power system and fire alarm system
Direct POM/PEM as needed able to perform in absence of POM/PEM
Coordinate with Plant System Specialist (PSS) on repair and calibration of various systems
Key Requirements
High school diploma or GED and technical degree or relevant industry certification/experience
Significant experience maintaining industrial systems
Strong safety record with a special emphasis on tool and equipment usage
Basic understanding computers or related equipment
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Physical Requirements
Must have ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and our pull and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally to
lift/move up to 40 lbs
Must be able to work on ladders

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The negotiated rate for the Union Engineer position is paying up to $38.19 per hour.
