Responsibilities:
How you’ll make an impact in this role
- Demonstrates commitment to organizational values, service excellence, and adherence to safety standards and programs.
- Operates, monitors, and maintains complex physical plant systems (e.g., boilers, chillers, generators, HVAC, electrical and water systems) to ensure efficient hospital operations.
- Supervises and trains HVAC/mechanical staff, coordinating work assignments and ensuring safe, effective maintenance practices.
- Conducts inspections, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance while maintaining accurate logs, work orders, and equipment records.
- Manages facility operations support, including vendor coordination, inventory control, system adjustments for environmental conditions, and response to emergencies such as fires or system failures.
Qualifications:
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Education:
- High School graduate or equivalent -required.
License/Certification:
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License -required.
- Second Class Steam Stationary Engineer license -required.
- Licensure by the City of Detroit -preferred.
- Third Class Refrigeration License -required.
- Certified or Journeyman status -preferred.
Experience:
- Eight years related experience preferably in a healthcare facility environment -required.
