Job Description

The Rogosin Institute is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Unit Clerk to provide clerical,administrative, and communication support within our Dialysis Unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and multitasking skills, thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and be committed to delivering exceptional service to patients, families, and staff.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Clerical Support
• Perform filing, typing, data entry, and general clerical duties.
• Answer and route incoming phone calls, take messages, and provide information as
appropriate.
• Sort and distribute mail, faxes, and other communications.
• Scan and upload documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Maintain accurate reports, treatment records, and patient documentation.
• Ensure all patient and employee forms are stocked and readily available.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Patient Support & Scheduling
• Prepare patient charts and ensure required consent forms are completed.
• Register patients in the Electronic Medical Record system.
• Schedule, update, and modify patient appointments as directed.
• Follow up on patient no-shows and missed appointments.
• Coordinate patient transportation and assist with physician appointment scheduling.
• Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes and forward documentation to billing as needed.

Inventory & Supplies
• Monitor and maintain inventory of dialysis and office supplies.
• Assist with ordering supplies and reporting inventory needs.
• Prepare laboratory specimen tubes and enter lab orders into designated systems.
• Monitor lab supplies and remove expired items as necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in a healthcare environment.
• Minimum of one (1) year of administrative experience in a healthcare or medical setting
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
