Unit Clerk for Long-Term Care

We are excited to announce the opening of a new opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our team at Complete Care at Berkshire in Reading, Pennsylvania. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our long-term care facility, working closely with our nursing staff and residents to ensure exceptional care and services.
About the Role: Unit Clerk
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our nursing team, assisting with resident care, and maintaining accurate records and charts. Your duties will include:
Greeting and assisting residents, families, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
Answering and directing phone calls, taking messages, and relaying information to appropriate staff
Maintaining and updating resident charts, medical records, and unit logs according to facility policies and HIPAA regulations
Assisting with admission, transfer, and discharge documentation, as well as preparing, filing, and distributing forms and reports as needed
Supporting nursing staff by transcribing physician orders and ensuring timely communication of updates
Coordinating resident appointments and transportation when necessary, and monitoring inventory of unit supplies and submitting requisitions as needed
Providing administrative support to the Nurse Manager and clinical team as required
Upholding confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies
Requirements: Unit Clerk
High School Diploma or equivalent required
CNA Certification a PLUS!
Previous clerical/administrative experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff, residents, and families
Compassionate, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a busy healthcare environment
