Fox Subacute, a long term care facility specializing in respiratory residents is seeking a Full Time Unit Clerk. Qualified candidates must have superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, the ability to maintain a consistently pleasant and professional demeanor during stressful situations. 

Candidates must be able to take direction and at times work independently. Prioritize tasks and have excellent organizational abilities. The ability to maintain confidentiality is a must, along with being proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.

Some knowledge of healthcare, insurance, referrals and transportation a plus. In addition to our family-centered environment, we offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Unit Clerk will be working in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting with direct interaction with residents and their families. The role requires a compassionate, professional demeanor and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. For immediate consideration please submit a resume. Position is Monday through Friday 8:30am-5pm, no weekends. 

Administrative & Recordkeeping Duties

  • Maintain and update patient records in electronic health records (EHR) and/or paper files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

  • Schedule appointments, tests, procedures, and transport for residents

  • Assist with medical record requests and closing of charts
  • File, fax, and photocopy documents as needed

  • Answer and transfer phone calls for the facility

Patient & Family Support

  • Greet residents and families upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment

  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.

  • Give facility tours to potential patients/family members
  • Address resident and family inquiries professionally and promptly

  • Assist nurses and staff by ensuring they have necessary materials and information needed

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the unit’s work area

Skills & Qualifications

  • Organizational & detail-oriented with the ability to multitask

  • Excellent communication skills for verbal and written interactions with patients, families, and staff

  • Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance knowledge

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic computer skills (EHR, Microsoft Office) and familiarity with healthcare terminology
