    Regular Part Time

    Responsibilities:

    Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Unit Coordinator provides administrative support on unit. Serves as a central contact for telephone calls and distribution point for paperwork and test results.

    • Greets individuals coming to the unit, provides directions and information and responds to needs and requests.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPPA) at all times and abides by organizational standards.
    • Prepares, compiles and maintains the patient's medical record on the nursing unit, including transcription of physicians' orders and processing of ordered tests and procedures, from admission through discharge, utilizing current I.S. system.
    • Manages the unit's communication systems (phones, Vocera's, patient throughput via Tele-tracking system, RTLS tags, Responder, patient call bells, fax, etc.), to facilitate communication between members of the health care team and their clients.
    • Responds to the patient call system, contacts nursing personnel as appropriate and
    • follows through with meeting patient needs.
    • Participates in performance and support improvement and risk management
    • activities.
    • Orders and maintains hospital supplies and documentation for patient care and office use.

    Qualifications:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.
