- Responsible for the day-to-day overall operation of the Coding and Billing department.
- Develops and implements processes and procedures for the operation of the Coding and Billing division of the practice.
- Reviews CDT codes for accuracy resulting in appropriate reimbursement.
- Supervises and assist in the researching of discrepancies in patient accounts by revising if there is a coding or data entry error.
- Educates and trains staff and enforces documentation guidelines and proper usage of CDT codes for billable services.
- Educates healthcare providers regarding reimbursement methodologies, documentation rules, and regulations related to coding.
- Ensures employees process appeals on claims denied by insurance companies in a timely manner.
- Responsible for daily and monthly billing reports.
- Revises (adds, deletes, revises codes) the fee schedule as required by the student and faculty practice.
- Responsible for ensuring all faculty that see patients in the OHC are enrolled through DPIP Business Office.
- Responsible for enrollment and credentialing of dentists with insurance companies.
- Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).
