Position Summary
The Unit Manager is a nurse leader responsible for directing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care in a designated area on a 24-hour basis. They maintain current knowledge of techniques, skills, practices, and regulations relevant to the patient populations served. The role involves managing personnel, supplies, and equipment to ensure quality care, supporting a collaborative work environment, and providing assistance across areas as needed.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school
- Current RN license in North Carolina
- BSN required
- 3-5 years recent clinical experience in Surgical Services
- Demonstrated supervisory skills
Additional Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of patient care strategies and current management concepts
- Ability to develop and implement programs
- Strong customer service, communication, and public interaction skills
- Ability to function as an RN when necessary
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to the Director of Surgical Services.
