Unit Manager / Wound Care Nurse Job Summary
The Unit Manager / Wound Care Nurse assists the Director of Nursing with the daily management of the assigned nursing unit and oversees wound care services to ensure residents receive safe, quality care in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees daily nursing operations and provides leadership to nursing staff.
Coordinates and provides wound care, including assessments, treatments, monitoring, and documentation.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
Reviews nursing documentation and monitors resident response to care.
Ensures adequate medications, wound care supplies, and medical equipment are available.
Assists with nursing and aide assignments based on resident needs.
Reports changes in resident condition, complaints, and other concerns to the Director of Nursing as appropriate.
Provides guidance and education to staff regarding wound care and prevention.
Participates in quality assurance and interdisciplinary care activities.
Required Education/Experience
Current Florida RN or LPN license in good standing required.
Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program.
Long-term care, skilled nursing, wound care, or supervisory experience preferred.
Current CPR certification required.
Must meet all applicable state and federal licensing requirements and have no active disciplinary action against professional license.
