Role Overview

A premier Global Strategic Account is seeking a Unit Safety Manager to lead a comprehensive food and physical safety program across a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven corporate dining and hospitality ecosystem. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with FDA Food Code, HACCP, OSHA, and local regulatory requirements while advancing a culture of prevention, readiness, and operational excellence.

The Unit Safety Manager plays a critical role in shaping a safe, high‑performance environment that supports thousands of daily guests. This leader will champion proactive risk mitigation, strengthen safety behaviors, and ensure that every café, kitchen, production space, and service area operates with uncompromising standards.

The position partners closely with culinary, operations and facilities to embed safety into daily workflows, support new program launches, and maintain alignment across a large, multi‑site campus. This role is both strategic and hands‑on — balancing data‑driven decision‑making with on‑the‑ground coaching, training, and partnership to deliver a world‑class employee experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead food & physical safety compliance — Ensure adherence to FDA Food Code, HACCP, OSHA standards, and local health regulations across kitchens, cafés, production areas, and service spaces.

  • Conduct safety audits — Perform routine inspections of culinary operations, equipment, storage, and physical environments to identify risks and drive corrective actions.

  • Manage incidents — Investigate foodborne illness claims, contamination events, injuries, near misses, and operational deviations; develop CAPA plans to prevent recurrence.

  • Deliver training — Facilitate engaging training on sanitation, allergen management, HACCP, PPE, ergonomics, and safe work practices for employees and contractors.

  • Strengthen operational readiness — Support menu rollouts, equipment onboarding, new processes, and facility changes to ensure safety is integrated into daily operations.

  • Analyze safety data — Track KPIs, audit scores, temperature logs, incident trends, and compliance metrics; present insights to leadership to inform decisions.

What We Offer

Compensation is fair and equitable, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience. Salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education, and training. Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision Care and Wellness Programs
  • 401(k) Plan with Matching Contributions
  • Paid Time Off and Company Holidays
  • Career Growth Opportunities and Tuition Reimbursement

More extensive information is provided to new employees upon hire.

What You Bring

  • Regulatory expertise — Knowledge of FDA Food Code, HACCP, OSHA, and local/state health and safety regulations.

  • Operational safety experience — Background supporting safety in culinary, hospitality, facilities, or high‑volume corporate environments.

  • Incident investigation skills — Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and develop effective CAPA plans for both food and physical safety events.

  • Training and communication strength — Skilled at delivering clear, engaging training and safety messaging to diverse teams.

  • Analytical mindset — Comfortable interpreting safety data, identifying trends, and recommending improvements.

  • Cross‑functional partnership — Proven ability to collaborate with culinary, operations, facilities, and leadership teams in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment.
