Unit Secretary

We are currently accepting applications for a compassionate and dependable Unit Secretary within our long-term care and rehabilitation facility specializing in geriatric care. Qualifications

  1. Must have an excellent driving record
  2. Must possess a valid driver’s license
  3. Must have current Alabama Certification or temporary online certification, if applicable
  4. Previous long-term care experience preferred, but not required
  5. Must be dependable, compassionate, organized, and team-oriented
  6. Must pass background check and drug screening
  7. Basic computer and documentation skills required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Provide assistance with resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs) based on individualized care plans
  2. Observe residents and report changes in condition or behavior to the nurse promptly
  3. Accurately document ADLs provided, vital signs, and resident care in the computer charting system
  4. Enter physician orders accurately into the computer system as directed by nursing staff
  5. Maintain resident charts, records, and nursing station organization
  6. Answer phones and communicate effectively with nurses, residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff
  7. Safely transport residents to physician appointments, dialysis, and other scheduled outings using the facility transportation van
  8. Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle safely and comfortably
  9. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while providing exceptional resident support and customer service
