Unit Secretary - Psychiatry (FT Days)

Additional Information About the Role

Location: BJH Physchiatric Care Center - Delmar

Schedule: This position works either 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with a requirement to work every third weekend and approximately 3-4 holidays per year.

The Psychiatric Center - Delmar Campus is a behavior health inpatient program that is driven to provide a high level of quality care. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of the St. Louis Community and surrounding areas. The Delmar Campus has two 25 bed units that provide care to anyone requiring treatment in depression, anxiety and behavior health recovery. We have a multidisciplinary team that consist of behavior health nurses, psychiatrist, Medical physicians, social workers, activity staff, music therapist and pharmacy.

Role Purpose

The Unit Secretary performs clerical duties supporting the operations of the patient care team.

Responsibilities

Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support.Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail.Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures. Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
