Job Description Summary
The Medical University of South Carolina MUSC is seeking a physician to join our well-established academic family medicine team at the assistant associate or professor level to provide comprehensive primary care. The ideal candidate will be a patient-centered, compassionate, team-player who is invested in delivering state-of-the-art clinical care while also teaching and leading parts of the curriculum for students and/or residents. Any candidate with an interest in medical education will be highly considered.
The department plays a major role in all four years of the medical school curriculum. Our department has a significant presence in the Deans Office, including the role of dean, associate deans, and curriculum directors. We also play a major role in facilitating different outreach activities to different underserved and vulnerable groups, including people who are unfunded, rural, and/or currently unhoused. The department has a highly successful required core clerkship that sends students around the state. There is potential for this physician to take over part of our work in education. This represents a tremendous opportunity to balance primary care practice with involvement with our medical students, residents, and fellows.
