The Universal Banker is primarily responsible for interacting with customers to complete transactions, cross-selling Nicolet products and services, resolving problems, and serving as a back-up to the personal bankers by opening and closing accounts. This position promotes business for Nicolet by maintaining a high level of customer service and by referring customers to appropriate staff where necessary.
As a Universal Banker, you will:
• Perform teller duties and organize balances and proofs of cash daily to maintain accurate transactions processed. • Identify payees and verify signatures and endorsements. • Perform back-up personal banker duties, opening and closing accounts, verifying and processing changes to existing accounts, answering customer questions, and resolving related account problems to ensure customer satisfaction. • Follow the guidelines of the continuity program with all new Nicolet customers. • Attract and retain customer relationships by extending a courteous greeting in person or by phone and by providing accurate and timely customer service, which includes but is not limited to cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, handling loan payments, dispensing cashiers checks and bonds, processing savings withdrawals within established guidelines to ensure customer satisfaction.
You will also be responsible for:
• Staying current on applicable banking regulations and security procedures and practicing to prevent fraud or other bank losses and to comply with regulatory requirements. • Answering customer telephone inquiries promptly and professionally and providing accurate information in accordance with bank policies and procedures. • Assisting with night depository duties, including logging bags, processing deposits, making change orders, issuing receipts, etc. • Promoting Nicolet products and services by identifying customer needs and suggesting appropriate products and services to solidify and enhance customer account relationships. • Recommending corrective services to resolve customer complaints. • Engaging proactively as a sales representative of Nicolet products and services to existing and prospective customers within the community by active participation in community events and/or organizations. • Maintaining the vault, including balancing the vault daily and ordering and selling cash for the branch. • Maintaining inventory of travelers checks, cashiers checks, and gift cards and ensuring adequate supply at all branch locations. • Monitoring supplies for the front line and placing orders when necessary. • Upholding Nicolets philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of Nicolet.
