JOB TITLE: University Advancement Student Leadership Intern
LOCATION(S): Minneapolis & St. Paul Campus
PAY RATE: $16.50
HOURS: Approximately 10-15 hours of work over the course of this academic year program
The University of St. Thomas is seeking mission driven, collaborative, and passionate students who may be interested in future careers in development, fundraising, and/or non-profits. We are excited to invite you to apply for the 2026-2027 University Advancement Student Leadership Internship Program (SLIP).
BE A LEADER WHILE EXPANDING YOUR PORTFOLIO AND RESUME
This program will allow you to explore the roles of various departments that support university advancement efforts including:
Understand how these departments collaborate with each other as you learn about projects, systems, and tools that enhance the philanthropic experience at St. Thomas. Learn how the 5 T's of philanthropy - time, talent, treasure, testimony, and ties - connect and enhance the growth of the university and our community.
Use knowledge obtained in the fall semester to engage in a University Advancement-specific spring semester hands-on learning experience.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The Student Leadership Internship Program gives participants an inside look at the advancement industry, demonstrating how various professions and skill sets work together in a sophisticated advancement department. Through discussion with experts and hands-on experience, students will discover how fundraising, alumni engagement, and strategic communications work together to build lifelong relationships, inspire philanthropy, and create opportunities for future Tommies.

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
