Description

The Division of Library and Information Resources/H.T. Sampson Library is accepting applications for its University Archivist position.

Examples of Duties

  • Management, appraisal, processing, preservation, and organization of archival materials, including special collections and university records.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for archival management, ensuring the protection and accessibility of materials.

  • Provide reference service and research assistance related to the archives, special collections, and other areas of the library, as needed.

  • Digitize archival materials and manage digital preservation initiatives.

  • Promote awareness of archival resources through outreach, exhibits, and collaborations.

  • Share nights and weekends.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

  • Masters degree from an ALA-accredited program in Library and Information Science.
  • Experience planning and/or providing information literacy instruction or other teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of information literacy, organization trends, practices, and issues.
  • Demonstrated abilities in research scholarly work and professional services.
  • Academic degree or academic subject background.
