This is a full-time, eleven-month, Inclusive Education/Special Programs Resource Teacher position.
Individuals who possess Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification are encouraged to apply.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) years K-12 special education teaching experience.
- Applicant must meet State of Delaware certification requirements for Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities.
- ST/PEI and Teacher of Students with Autism or Students with Severe Intellectual Disabilities certification preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of special education compliance regulations and services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to work in different schools across the district.
- Ability to multitask, schedule, and facilitate both short- and long-term projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with school Achievement Liaison teachers and Instructional coaches on strategies to improve educational outcomes for students receiving special education services.
- Support and coach classroom staff; model evidence-based best practices and intervention strategies.
- Observe and provide consult services for students across the district.
- Identify and recommend appropriate curriculum and resources.
- Lead, train, and support staff in professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate and lead district 12-month and ESY programming.
- Collaborate with IEP and classroom teams across the district.
- Aid in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans.
- Provide outreach services and learning opportunities for families (such as hosting parent information sessions and connecting families with adult service providers).
- Support families and schools with resources to complete DDDS applications.
- Collaborate with state and local educational agencies to support students, staff, and families.
- Advocate for students with special needs.
- Foster and develop relationships among students, families and community stakeholders.
- Support the District in implementing best practices and new trends in education.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Inclusive Education.
SALARY: In accordance with the State of Delaware and local salary schedules, based on experience and degree. Benefits package included.

- Individuals must provide official transcripts, if applicable, updated resume, and three (3) letters of recommendation.
- All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
