Position Description

The position is for a teacher of upper elementary students in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grades. The teacher will be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate grade level classroom instruction and activities.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate certification for the assignment

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of theory, research methods, and best practices in upper elementary education
  • Ability to use data to inform instruction and differentiate for a wide variety of learners
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members and administrators
  • Understanding of social emotional learning and best practices in supporting all students' social emotional well-being
  • Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, and administration
  • Knowledge of age appropriate curriculum, application of appropriate assessment, and knowledge of effective use of age appropriate, research based instructional strategies for upper elementary students
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Computer literacy skills
