Position: Upper School Bible Teacher Reports to: Upper School Principal Position type: Contract - 10month School Year Position Summary: Teach students (9-12) in a specific subject matter in a classroom setting through a kingdom mindset and a biblical worldview. Encompass the qualities and characteristics of Concord staff members as outlined in our Staff Values. Bachelor or higher degree in theology or Bible related degree. Teaching Experience preferred. ACSI teacher certification – able to obtain upon hire 1stAid/CPR certification preferred – able to obtain upon hire RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, prepare and deliver traditional classroom and online instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. Establish & maintain appropriate & effective classroom management procedures. Develop a rapport with students that motivates & fosters enthusiasm for learning. Creatively integrate technology in the classroom to enhance learning. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve subject matter, grade-level & school goals. Provide appropriate feedback on student work in a prompt and timely manner. Maintain accurate & complete records of student progress & attendance in database. Maintain up-to-date lesson plans via administration approved channel. Participate in a multi-night overnight 9th-12th retreat (typically August). Provide leadership for other overnight trips as requested. Professionally communicate necessary information regularly to students, team members and parents regarding student progress and disciplinary matters. Comply with all policies, practices and procedures. Participate in weekly chapel & family groups. Perform before and after school duties as assigned each semester. Work to ensure that confidentiality is maintained by faculty and staff as it pertains to student discipline, academic struggles or staff issues. Participate in other CCS events as assigned or requested by Principal. WORKING CONDITIONS Typically, a 5-day work week in a classroom environment. Working with various socio-economic groups, ages and nationalities.
