Upper West Side Executive Housekeeper

Private family seeks an experienced, versatile and hands-on Executive Housekeeper to help establish and oversee housekeeping standards within their Upper West Side residence. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for an accomplished private service professional who takes exceptional pride in detailed home care, operates with a strong sense of ownership, and is equally comfortable executing day-to-day housekeeping responsibilities and providing leadership as the household team grows. The family values professionalism, discretion, reliability, loyalty, and a positive, service-oriented approach.

This is a Monday through Friday position, generally consisting of a 9/9:30a - 5/5:30p schedule, with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend event support. Private staff accommodations are available for the rare occasion when a late evening is necessary. The position is primarily based at the family’s Upper West Side residence, and may include occasional support at an additional NYC residence as needed.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing thoughtful housekeeping systems, procedures, organization, and service standards for the residence. As the household grows, this individual will serve as the lead for additional housekeeping staff, helping to train team members and maintain consistency in care and presentation. The ideal candidate has extensive private household / UHNW experience, preferably at an Executive or Lead Housekeeper level, and is confident working independently without close supervision. They are diligent, hardworking, calm, and highly discreet, with the judgment to anticipate household needs and the hands-on mentality to address them without waiting for direction.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform all aspects of executive-level housekeeping, detailed home care, and deep cleaning to maintain the residence in impeccable condition
• Establish and maintain effective housekeeping systems, procedures, organizational standards, and daily routines, proactively identifying household needs without waiting for direction
• Oversee wardrobe care for both principals, including couture and specialty garments, dry cleaning coordination, and meticulous closet organization
• Manage household organization, supplies, and inventories to ensure appropriate stock levels and efficient day-to-day operations
• Lead, train, and oversee additional housekeeping staff as the team grows, establishing clear expectations and maintaining consistent housekeeping and service standards
• Work collaboratively with household staff to ensure seamless daily operations while remaining highly productive and self-directed with minimal supervision
• Assist with occasional entertaining, including household preparation, serving, and post-event cleanup
• Provide occasional support at nearby family residences and adapt to changing household schedules, guest presence, and family needs with flexibility and a positive, service-oriented approach
• Additional housekeeping and household duties as needed and requested

Requirements:

• Strong command of the English language with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent references from both current and previous employers required
• 5+ years of professional housekeeping experience within private estates and/or Five-star luxury hotels; prior Executive or Lead Housekeeper experience strongly preferred
• Exceptional knowledge of luxury housekeeping, detailed home care, wardrobe management, and the proper care of couture and specialty garments
• Strong leadership skills with the confidence to establish systems and standards, train additional staff, and oversee a growing housekeeping team
• Highly proactive, self-directed, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through; able to anticipate needs and work effectively with minimal oversight
• Polished, discreet, calm, and professional with sound judgment, appropriate boundaries, and experience working within highly confidential private environments
• Collaborative, hardworking, reliable, and service-oriented with the flexibility to support occasional evenings, events, and nearby family residences as needed
• Comfortable working within a family-focused household with young children and genuinely interested in a long-term position; demonstrated employment longevity strongly preferred
• Legally able to work in the United States

Compensation: $50 - $60 Hourly  (approximately $105,000 - $125,000 annually), commensurate with experience; flexibility for the right candidate
