Upright Bass Instructor

About the Role:
Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music is looking for a passionate and skilled Upright Bass Instructor to join our growing team! This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students of all ages and skill levels while doing what you love in a supportive, music-focused environment.



Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging one-on-one or group upright bass lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop customized lesson plans and curricula tailored to each student's musical goals and abilities
• Track and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement
• Teach proper technique, music theory, sight-reading, and ear training as applicable
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development
• Participate in recitals, studio events, and school performances as needed
• Maintain a positive, professional, and motivating classroom atmosphere

Requirements:

• Proficiency in upright bass; classical, jazz, or orchestral background a plus
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience in music instruction preferred
• Ability to teach students of all ages, from beginners to advanced players
• Strong knowledge of music theory, technique, and performance fundamentals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• Formal music education or equivalent professional experience preferred
