    Upward Bound Summer Instructor

    The Waubonsee Upward Bound program is seeking instructors to teach summer courses during a five-week summer program.  

    Subjects include: 
    Mathematics (Algebra through Calculus), 
    Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering)
    World Language (Arabic, French, German, Mandarin, or Spanish)
    Electives in Social Science, Business, Health, etc. 

    Instructors are scheduled to work Monday - Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    Course dates:
    June 8 - 10, 2026
    June 15 - 17, 2026
    June 22 - 24, 2026
    June 29 - July 1, 2026
    July 6 - 8, 2026

    Mandatory dates: 
    Staff Orientation A - May 26, 2026, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (Virtual - Zoom) 
    Staff Orientation B - June 2, 2026, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  (in-person)
    Open House - July 9, 2026, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree 

    Completed at least 2 years of teaching at the high school or college level. Substitute and student teaching experience will be considered.

    Demonstrated ability to meet diverse learning requirements of students and experience working with diverse student populations.
