Urban Government Intern II

Department of Public Works

Under immediate supervision, works on specific projects of limited duration and provides semi-professional support to a City department/agency.

Examples of Duties

• Confers with school officials and City department/agency management, to develop objective and scope of the project and its expected results.
• Prepares appropriate process and project management charts, questionnaires, abstracts, descriptions and other data presentation formats.
• Collects project information by survey, file review, field observation, interview and research.
• Analyzes the information in terms of City department mission and best practices in the field of study.
• Prepares reports and recommendations on the results of investigation and analysis.
• Presents project procedure, conclusions and recommendations.
• Utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and other office software as required by project specifics.
• Receives training and experience in the activities of a City department or agency.

Minimum Qualifications

Enrollment in a college or university with junior, senior or graduate level class standing. Possess a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
