What Youll Do:
Perform diagnostic 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams on adult and pediatric patients
Coordinate with hospital departments for scheduling and patient transport
Support cardiologists during exams by preparing and measuring M-modes and exchanging pertinent information
Assist with dictation, delivery, and distribution of exam reports
Respond to patient needs during procedures and monitor for changes in condition
Order supplies, maintain clean and organized exam rooms, and ensure quality control of equipment
Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives and on-call coverage for emergency exams
Keep updated on advances in echocardiography and seek mentorship from cardiology staff as needed
What You Need:
Required:
State of NM Echo Sonographer License
ARDMS/CCI registered or eligible, or comparable national accreditation
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
High school diploma or equivalent plus a 2-year allied health education program related to patient care
Manual dexterity and strong organizational skills
Preferred:
2+ years of active echocardiography experience
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and perform effectively under pressure
