We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.  

Sign on bonus up to $15,000 for external candidates

Job Summary 

Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts,sprainsand minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skillsin order torecognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. 

Job Requirements 

Education 

  • Bachelor's Degreefor Physician Assistants

  • Master's Degreefor Nurse Practitioners

Work Experience 

  • One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience. 

Required Licenses/Certifications 

  • National Certification 

  • Active state medical licensure 

Additional Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities  

  • Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred 

  • Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.

  • Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays. 

  • Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting. 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred 

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records      

  • Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills 

  • Strong communicationand customer service skills 

Essential Functions

  • Examining and treating patients 

  • Taking patients’ medical histories 

  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays 

  • Making diagnoses and prescribing medications 

  • Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting 

  • Recording progress notes for follow-up patients 

  • Educating and counseling patients 

  • Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients 

  • Giving vaccinations, and referring patients toadditionalcare 

  • Each provider will workan anticipatedeight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative ofGoHealthUrgent Care 

  • All other duties as assigned
