Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Flexible Schedule – Connecticut

Location: Multiple Sites Across Connecticut (Primary Location: Torrington)

Start Date: November 1, 2025

End Date: March 31, 2026

Pay Rate: Around $100/hr

Contract Type: Locum Tenens (Per Diem or Part-Time Options Available)

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking experienced and flexible Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) to support urgent care clinic operations across several counties in Connecticut. This is a great opportunity for providers who enjoy variety in their work setting and thrive in fast-paced, autonomous environments.

Coverage is primarily needed across New Haven, Middlesex, New London, Windham, Tolland, Hartford, and Litchfield Counties. Schedules will be coordinated to keep locations close together as much as possible.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality urgent care services to patients of all ages

  • Diagnose and treat minor illnesses and injuries

  • Perform procedures including suturing, wound care, incision & drainage, and splinting

  • Interpret and act on diagnostic tools such as X-rays and EKGs

  • Collaborate with clinical support teams and maintain thorough documentation

Scheduling Details:

  • Weekend availability strongly preferred (especially Fridays through Sundays)

  • Weekday shifts may also be available, particularly on Mondays and Fridays

  • Must be comfortable with:

    • Traveling up to 45 minutes between clinic sites

    • Occasionally splitting a day between two locations

    • Adapting to last-minute schedule changes when necessary

  • Preference given to local providers or those not requiring air travel

Qualifications:

  • Active Connecticut state license (or ability to obtain quickly)

  • At least 1–2 years of recent urgent care or emergency medicine experience

  • Proven ability to manage a high patient volume (20+ patients per 12-hour shift)

  • Proficient in urgent care procedures

  • Comfortable seeing pediatric through adult populations

Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Required)

  • ACLS, PALS (Preferred)

  • Active DEA license (assigned in Connecticut)
