The primary responsibility of the Urgent Care Physician is to provide medical care to patients who present with acute, non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries. This includes taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications. The Urgent Care Physician will also work closely with other members of the healthcare team, such as nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
About the position:
• Clinic Hours – Open 7 days/week (8a-8p M-F, 8a-4p Sa-Su)
• General Schedule – 12-hours shifts Monday – Friday; weekends 8-hour shifts; every other weekend (2/month).
• Limited call expectations
• Average # of patients seen per day 20-25 average/peak Flu/Cold slightly higher (25-30)
• Support staff- average 3 PSRs per shift, 5 MAs, 3 Providers
• Practitioners- At least one physician is staffed with the APPs (ARNP/Pas) per shift
• BE/BC in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
• Ability to obtain medical professional license in the State of WA and DEA with full prescriptive authority
• Experience in Urgent Care strongly preferred
