As an Urgent Care Veterinary Technician in Berkeley, CA, you’ll play a key role in keeping patient care moving smoothly—from intake and diagnostics to treatment, discharge, and collaboration with Emergency and Specialty teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician or RVT seeking an urgent care role in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What You’ll Do
● Keep daily Urgent Care workflow running smoothly and help ensure appointments and cases stay on track.
● Support patient flow from intake through diagnostics, treatment, and discharge.
● Coordinate seamless communication and transfers between Urgent Care, Emergency, and Specialty teams.
● Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical support to outpatient cases.
Hands-On Clinical Care
● Safely restrain animals using low-stress, patient-centered handling techniques.
● Assist with sedation procedures and provide minor surgical support under veterinarian direction.
● Demonstrate strong technical skill in venous catheter placement.
● Calculate medication dosages accurately and administer medications via PO, SC, IM, and IV routes.
● Apply strong urgent care nursing skills across a wide variety of clinical scenarios.
Diagnostics & Technical Support
● Operate in-house laboratory equipment accurately and efficiently.
● Take and process digital radiographs safely and effectively.
● Assist with CT imaging and support ultrasound procedures, including patient preparation and positioning.
● Maintain quality control and accurate documentation for diagnostic procedures.
Client Experience
● Deliver compassionate, thoughtful communication about patient status, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
● Partner with veterinarians to provide clients with clear, consistent updates.
● Create a professional, supportive experience in every client interaction.

Qualifications
● 2–3+ years of veterinary technician experience.
● Experience in urgent care, emergency, or other high-volume clinical settings preferred.
● Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credentials are preferred, but experienced veterinary technicians are encouraged to apply.
● Anesthesia support and sedation monitoring experience preferred.
● Diagnostic imaging experience, including radiology, CT, or ultrasound support, strongly preferred.
● Strong technical nursing skills, including catheter placement, medication administration, and lab work.
● Experience supporting pets and clients in Berkeley or the greater San Francisco Bay Area veterinary community is a plus.

Compensation: Up to $35 DOE for this Berkeley, CA urgent care veterinary technician opportunity.
Sign-On Bonus Available for qualified candidates joining our Berkeley veterinary team serving the San Francisco Bay Area.
