Job Description
Summary
We are urgently hiring a Licensed Pharmacist for a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy in Bentonville, AR. The Pharmacist will be responsible for safely dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions, monitoring medication therapy, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Pay Rate: $65.75/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30/6:00 PM
Weekend Rotation: Saturday & Sunday once every 3 weeks
On-Call: Optional; typically very low phone volume
CPR+ software experience is a huge plus, even if the experience is not recent.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Accept, review, prepare, and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
- Ensure prescriptions are appropriate and comply with applicable laws and pharmacy regulations.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify medication overuse or other drug-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
- Counsel patients and provide medication information regarding dosage, storage, side effects, drug interactions, and proper administration.
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate concerns effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Compound medications for internal and external use.
- Prepare sterile solutions according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy staff.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Provide appropriate patient health services, including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
- Active Arkansas Pharmacist license required.
- PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree required as applicable to state licensure.
- Previous LTC, closed-door, institutional, or specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications, drug interactions, dosing, and medication safety.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to supervise and provide direction to pharmacy support staff.
- CPR+ experience strongly preferred; previous experience is valuable even if it is not recent.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and patient confidentiality.
