As a 2nd Shift General Laborer, you'll be a vital part of supporting the setup and operation of large corrugated machinery to produce high-quality boxes. You'll work closely with machine operators and production staff to ensure smooth operations and consistent output.
What Youll Do
As a 2nd Shift General Laborer, you will be responsible for:
- Following and enforcing all safety guidelines while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Reviewing dimensions and board combinations prior to machine setup.
- Feeding corrugated product into machinery at a steady, accurate pace.
- Collecting and submitting load tags to confirm quantities received.
- Sorting and placing rejected work in designated areas (e.g., short sheets, cracked scoring, rough edges, damaged board).
- Inspecting board quality and coordinating with the machine operator before each run.
- Preparing ink fountains and assisting with job line-up tasks.
- Mounting cutting dies/print plates, setting pull collars, and helping set up the feed section.
- Reporting maintenance issues to the machine operator.
- Cleaning and organizing the work area during downtime.
- Assuming responsibility for machine operation in the operators absence.
- Performing additional setup or operational duties as directed.
- Completing any other assigned tasks to support production goals.
What Youll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 612 months of related experience preferred; experience in the corrugated or paper industry is helpful.
- Strong English-speaking skills are mandatory for safety and quality reasonsthis requirement cannot be waived.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and read a tape measure to 1/16".
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions and troubleshoot production or mechanical issues.
- Ability to record time and production data.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally 50100 lbs.
- Strong vision abilities (color, depth, peripheral, close/distance).
- Dress Code: Closed-toe footwear required. Hearing protection required near machinery (provided by employer). No jewelry allowed. Shorts/tank tops allowed during summer.

Location & Schedule:
This position is on-site in Biddeford, ME, working MondayFriday, 3:20 PM11:50 PM, with overtime available until 1:50 AM. You will train for 36 months before operating machinery independently.
