Job Title: Senior QA Automation Engineer (.NET, Playwright/Cypress)
Location: Illinois, USA
 
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in UI and API test automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks using modern testing tools and best practices. This role requires a strong background in .NET (C#), Playwright or Cypress, API automation, and CI/CD integration.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Create and execute automated test scripts using Playwright or Cypress for UI testing.
  • Develop API automation tests using .NET (C#) with NUnit.
  • Design comprehensive end-to-end test strategies covering UI, API, and data validation.
  • Perform content validation using API-based validation, mocked UI, and stubbed services.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Execute automated test suites using dotnet and generate test reports using NUnit/TRX.
  • Configure test environments and implement parallel test execution.
  • Collaborate with development teams through Git-based workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate test development, improve script stability, and assist with debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience in UI Automation using Playwright or Cypress.
  • Strong experience in API Automation using .NET (C#) with NUnit.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Strong programming skills in C# and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience designing end-to-end automation strategies across UI, API, and data layers.
  • Hands-on experience with API validation, mocked UI, and stubbed services.
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience running automated tests using dotnet and generating NUnit/TRX reports.
  • Knowledge of environment configuration and parallel test execution.
  • Strong understanding of Git, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve automation productivity and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP status codes, request/response validation, and API testing.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise-scale automation frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
