Req ID: JR95856 US FE Expansion Planning Engineer (Evergreen)As a US Expansion Planning Engineer, you will be a key contact in preparing for production in a new high volume memory manufacturing facility in Boise, Idaho, calculating and presenting capital impacts of processes that will be introduced at the site to senior leaders in manufacturing and R&D.Based in Boise, you will be responsible for connecting many parts of the business to drive the execution of manufacturing and cost savings processes, including supply chain, finance, engineering, procurement, production, and R&D.Responsibilities Optimize capacity of equipment base and lead site‑and‑tool‑level optimization studies for efficiency improvementCollaborate with partners to understand future tool and process roadmaps, and calculate network capacity impacts of process changesComplete financial analyses before new capital equipment is purchased, including metrics optimization, process flexibility, capacity sharing and equipment repurposeHandle site tool utilization and capacity planning models to optimize the site's deployed capitalDesign, track, and communicate capital change proposals to manufacturing senior leaders through reporting tools (e.g. Tableau) and formal presentationBuild and implement tools to audit manufacturing capital efficiency and identify cost reduction opportunitiesLead and communicate improvement opportunities and implementation plans to all relevant levels and functions in manufacturingApply new (e.g. Python, SQL, R) and traditional (Excel, VBA) methods to improve and automate tasks in the planning system/modelsMinimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a Business‑related or quantitative field (Finance, Economics, or similar subject area), and 2 years of experience in a combination of capacity planning, business analyst and/or process analyst rolesORMaster's degree in Industrial Engineering or a Business‑related or quantitative field (Finance, Economics, or similar subject area)Minimum 2 years of experience in crafting and developing web‑based reporting metrics (e.g. Tableau, Python, SQL)Semiconductor experiencePreferred Qualifications Experience turning sophisticated and ambiguous problem statements into structured solutions while working in a highly multi‑functional environmentExperience operating independently while maintaining a high degree of organization and controlExperience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across diverse technical and non‑technical groupsExperience working in teams, establishing and maintaining multi‑functional and working relationshipsBenefits Micron provides a selection of medical, dental, and vision plans, benefit programs that help protect income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury, and paid family leave.
