Assemble, wire, and test electrical components such as relays, switches, transformers, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, and related equipment while following all safety requirements.
Install completed assemblies into cabinets and electrical enclosures as required.
Accurately lay out and position components to ensure proper construction, installation, accessibility, and future maintenance.
Support switch rack construction, including bus fabrication and assembly, enclosure construction, component layout and mounting, conduit installation, fitting installation, measurement, fabrication, and complete assembly wiring.
Complete required qualified electrical worker training and perform functional testing of products.
Troubleshoot and resolve product quality issues identified during testing.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, productivity gains, and cost savings.
Review blueprints, schematics, and job requirements; identify discrepancies and make appropriate adjustments to assemblies and drawings.
Communicate drawing or manufacturing corrections to the appropriate engineering personnel.
Cross-train in additional functions to support changing production demands.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and general shop environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
At least 2 years of experience in complex electrical assembly and testing, along with one or more of the following:
Journeyman or Master Electrician certification.
Associate degree or technical certification in a related electrical field.
Military electrical training.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, including piping, conduit installation, and threading.
Ability to work overtime as required.
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience manufacturing or assembling explosion-proof and/or power-distribution equipment.
Experience in heavy industrial electrical or electro-mechanical assembly.
Technical Skills & Success Criteria
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, including knowledge of mechanical principles, material characteristics, electrical fundamentals, and conventional circuit wiring.
Ability to set up and operate hand, pneumatic, and power tools.
Experience using fixed and adjustable gauges and electrical testing equipment to verify wiring, mechanical functions, and product quality.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings.
Basic computer skills and experience.
Strong understanding of manufacturing practices and procedures.
