PAY RANGE: $25.00 - 29.00/hr

Summary:


The main function of a lab technician is to perform routine analytical laboratory tests for the characterization of crude oil and its products to assist researchers with the development of new technologies in the oil and gas industry. A typical lab technician may work under the supervision of a scientist.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust, maintain, operate and clean analytical laboratory equipment.
• Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to quality specifications, using wet preparation procedures and advanced analytical equipment such as NMR and GC-MS.
• Analyze, gather and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs and narratives.
• Handle solvents and prepare dilutions
• Timely completion of routine analyses and tasks requested by scientist

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• 2+ years of commercial analytical lab experience
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time.
• Basic knowledge of the information and techniques used in an analytical testing laboratory.
• Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.
• High degree of integrity

Education:

• Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemistry, Biology, or related field)
