Position SummarySeeking a hard-working, detail-oriented individual who is a team player to join our accounting team. This individual will be responsible for the general accounting function at our US Manufacturing sites in Buffalo, NY and Ogden, UT. As a member of small accounting teams at these locations, this position will be a strong business partner to management and must collaborate with multiple departments across the business. This position includes responsibility for monthly closes and day-to-day accounting functions.Responsibilities will include:Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesEnsure all transactions are properly categorized in a timely manner, including monthly accruals, prepaids and expensesWith the US Manufacturing Controller and US Cost Accountant, close monthly books for Buffalo and Ogden sites, including monthly account reconciliations and schedules for monthly reportingPrepare, review, and upload monthly financial statements to Actylis' accounting systemWork with Accounts Payable to ensure timely vendor invoice verification, reconciliation of vendor accounts and payment of bills to vendors. Respond to any billing inquiriesWork with Accounts Receivable and CSRs, ensure timely payment of all receivablesManage capital tracking and fixed assetsMonitor and reconcile credit card spendingEnsure that daily invoices and packing lists are generated for CSRs for daily shipmentsWork with accounting team across the company to balance intercompany accounts monthlyPrepare and or assist with tax compliance requests as necessaryWork with other accounting personnel as needed related to the monthly close, budgeting, bank reporting, audit, etc.Maintain strong internal controlsProvide ad-hoc reporting as requested by management, owners, or project managers in a timely mannerAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling to support business planningPrepare locally generated tax forms (1099s, related filings) and support audits and government correspondenceTake the initiative to develop and improve any accounting functionality that could improve the company's financial positionOther responsibilities as requiredRequired Experience & KnowledgeBachelor's degree in accounting/finance5-7 years of related experienceCPA Certification is a plusPublic accounting experience preferredStrong computer knowledge including Excel requiredKnowledge of Sage X3 and Controller consolidation reporting desirablePhysical DemandThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
