Job Description

Job SummaryThe Pediatric RN in Surgical Services at Shriners Hospital for Children provides expert nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and a compassionate, safe environment throughout the perioperative experience.Key Responsibilities

  • The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery. 

  • Involves patient, family, and health care team members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.

  • Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.

  • Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.

  • Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.

  • Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.

  • Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and to provide continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room. 

Required Qualifications

  • RN License for current State

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

The pay range for this position is $47.08 - $70.62. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
