We are seeking a hands-on Senior Backend Spring Boot Microservices Developer / Lead to design, build, modernize, and operate enterprise-grade backend platforms. The role combines deep Java and Spring Boot engineering expertise with technical leadership across microservices, REST APIs, event-driven integration, cloud-native deployment, security, observability, and production reliability. The successful candidate will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, guide engineering teams, and own delivery from architecture through production support.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery of scalable backend applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Framework, Spring Security, JPA/Hibernate, and RESTful services.
•Define microservice boundaries, domain models, API contracts, integration patterns, versioning, backward compatibility, and service lifecycle standards.
•Design resilient distributed systems using synchronous APIs and asynchronous messaging with Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or equivalent technologies.
•Build secure service-to-service and user-facing integrations using OAuth 2.0, JWT, role-based access control, secrets management, encryption, and secure coding practices.
•Lead legacy modernization and cloud migration initiatives, including service decomposition, refactoring, re-platforming, containerization, phased cutover, and zero-downtime deployment.
•Design and deploy containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, Cloud Run, or comparable cloud platforms, with autoscaling, health checks, rolling and canary releases.
•Establish engineering standards for clean code, design patterns, exception handling, concurrency, caching, transaction management, performance tuning, and maintainability.
•Guide database design and integration across PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar platforms; optimize queries, indexing, connection pools, and data-access patterns.
•Partner with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins, automated testing, security scanning, container builds, and release automation.
•Define observability and reliability practices covering structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, SLOs, SLAs, incident response, root-cause analysis, and runbooks.
•Own technical delivery across requirements, solution design, estimation, development, testing, code review, deployment, production validation, and operational support.
•Mentor developers, conduct design and code reviews, resolve complex technical issues, and promote consistent engineering practices across teams.
•Collaborate with product owners, architects, security, infrastructure, data, and business stakeholders to evaluate trade-offs and align solutions with business outcomes.
•Lead technical workshops and communicate architecture decisions, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders.
•Contribute to solution proposals, RFI/RFP responses, statements of work, delivery roadmaps, and effort estimates as required.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
•10+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on development of enterprise Java applications.
•5+ years of experience designing and delivering Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs in production environments.
•Strong proficiency in Core Java, Java 8–21, object-oriented design, collections, exception handling, multithreading, concurrency, JVM behavior, and performance optimization.
•Advanced experience with Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, and dependency injection.
•Strong understanding of microservices architecture, domain-driven decomposition, distributed-system patterns, API gateways, resilience, idempotency, caching, retries, and fault tolerance.
