Qualifications & Skills
Core Technical Experience
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Lab/Critical Facilities Expertise: 6+ years of experience designing lab automation solutions for research environments (R&D labs, life sciences, pharmaceutical facilities, or cleanrooms).
IoT & Protocols: Deep practical experience with IoT edge gateways, time-series data management, industrial protocol converters, and high-frequency sensor ingestion.
AI & Data Pipelines: Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models on time-series telemetry (e.g., predictive analytics for critical lab equipment).
Enterprise integrations: Experience integrating CMMS, ERP, and EDMS data with smart building platforms
Programming & Cloud: Proficient in Python, C/C++, Node.js, or Go; strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud).
Specialized Knowledge & Soft Skills
Strong understanding of Lab EHS standards, specialized ventilation requirements (ACH, differential pressure), and containment protocols.
Strong knowledge of Operations/IT security convergence, including network isolation (VLANs, Purdue Model, Zero Trust).
Proven ability to collaborate with scientific researchers, facility engineers, enterprise IT directors, and hardware vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing digital tools for research facilities and equipment asset management (eg: Digital Twins, advanced analytics)
Certifications in AWS/Azure Cloud Architecture, Certified IoT Professional, or TOGAF.
