USA_Sourcing Specialist 1_Buying/Procurement

Title:                 Sourcing Specialist
Location:         Houston TX 77073
Duration:         0-12+ Month
Shift:                 1st Shift
Pay:          $35: 00-40: 00/Hour
 
Job Duties:

1. Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in Oracle
2. Review and validate requisitions (PORs) before PO creation
3. Confirm supplier setup and availability in Oracle
4. Navigate multiple Oracle screens to:
   1. Check PO history
   2. Review inventory and supply/demand data (view-only)
   3. Support planners with accurate status updates
5. Support production meetings by preparing PO and part status outside of Oracle (typically in Excel)
6. Manage Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs):
   1. Regular interaction with ~5 suppliers (out of ~9 total)
   2. Handle releases, expediting, and payment follow-up
7. Support farm-out and repair activities, interacting with ~20 suppliers over short cycles
8. Communicate with suppliers via email and calls (Teams) to:
   1. Request quotes (RFQs)
   2. Expedite materials
   3. Clarify requirements
9. Maintain documentation for auditability and PO attachments

 
Qualifications / Requirements:

1. The role requires daily navigation of multiple Oracle screens (OSCAR / PASCAL)
2. Buyers must understand how information flows, not just how to enter data
3. Candidates without strong Oracle buyer-side experience may struggle early and require more ramp-up time
4. Managing High Volume + Complexity Simultaneously
5. High Communication Load
6. Oracle OSCAR and/or Oracle PASCAL
7. Hands-on Buyer-side use (not just exposure)
8. Comfort navigating multiple modules/screens
9. Acceptable:
   1. SAP or similar modern ERP only if the candidate can clearly articulate Buyer workflows and navigation logic
10. Not sufficient:
    1. Legacy systems
    2. Light ERP exposure
