The Assistant Application Database Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, implementation and support of all databases used for the Global Field Financials project. This position will play a key role in the design and development of database capabilities necessary for the evolution of the application and all associated interfaces, including requirements gathering for implementation of new capabilities. The analyst will also be responsible for developing and supporting our enterprise ETL processes. Support efforts will include converting data and integrating with other Aramark and third-party applications in each target country. The incumbent may also be responsible for leading small to mid-size projects.
Responsibilities:
The Global Field Financials team develops, deploys and maintains the standard Field Financial System that is used throughout Aramark’s global operations. This person will report to the IT Manager and will principally support the GFF Solution Development team while advancing key business objectives of the Global Field Financials team. This individual will be directly responsible for developing or supporting the entire project team’s application database needs and the review of specifications and functional requirements gathered from the business teams. This person will interact regularly with members of the field-based and tower-based user community, a broader internal and remote-based development team, and have regular interactions with members of the LOB and in-country management and deployment teams. Coordination across all teams is required to ensure that system requirements are understood and implemented as planned. Excellent database technical skills such as design, development, performance tuning, are essential to succeed in this role.
This individual will also assist in the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise ETL processes and data integrations. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining SSIS packages, designing data transformation and migration solutions, integrating data between Global Field Financials and internal/external applications, monitoring and troubleshooting automated data loads, implementing error handling and auditing frameworks, and optimizing ETL performance to ensure timely and accurate movement of business-critical data across the enterprise.
Detailed responsibilities include:
Design, develop, maintain and support database environments to support GFF application.
Analyze business requirements and architect database designs and build solutions
Support a growing set of critical database environments during and after business hours
Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance using Query Store, Execution Plans, DMVs, Extended Events, and First Responder Kit
Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages to support ETL processes, data migrations, and automated business workflows
Review development work of others to assess ways to improve database performance
Participate in requirements gathering workshops and meetings, facilitate and record business requirements and prepare documentation.
Coordinate efforts with other members of the IT development team to review and validate requirements and evaluate technical feasibilities
Coordinate with various on-shore / off-shore teams as needed
Performing code reviews and ensure database standards are being adhered to and established SDLC processes are being followed.
Develop and maintain technical documentation on current and future state of systems, applications, interfaces and processes.
Administer SQL Server Agent jobs, including monitoring, scheduling, and troubleshooting synchronization processes
Develop time and cost estimates for new or modified work items including constraints, dependencies and other variables under the guidance of the IT team.
Estimate and establish cost parameters for new development of software, interfaces and process improvements.
Research and analyze new tools / processes that can help the team become more efficient
Manage source control, pipelines, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps (TFS)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a similar discipline is required
• Demonstrated skills in the development and maintenance of enterprise-level systems
• 3+ years proficiency in technical development experience in a team environment
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience as an senior database developer, including design and implementation of data driven web applications, with a successful track
record of writing and testing Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML) scripts
• 2+ years of experience building and supporting enterprise ETL processes.
• SQL Server 2022 or better required
• Experience with Oracle database technologies is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL, and performance tuning is essential.
• Microsoft certification: MCTS SQL Server 2022 or better preferred.
• Experience in Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing is a plus.
• Experience with Sentry One, RedGate or other database management tools is desired.
• Experience with Microsoft Development technologies such as C#, WCF, Web Services, ASP.NET, and other scripting languagtes such as Powershell is preferred
• Demonstrated experience working with Unicode and international character data sets is preferred
• Leadership in solution design and development and compliance to SDLC & enterprise standards
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating with stakeholders and business process owners is a must
• Experience with creation and maintenance of functional and/or technical specifications is required
• Experience with change control processes, code migration and management tools is required (ITIL, TFS, etc.)
• Experience with ERP Systems (Oracle, SAP, other) or equivalent demonstrated experience in general business concepts (including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, purchasing, receiving, inventory) is a plus
