  • Apply and help maintain the IDEMIA Design System and MUI components, ensuring visual and interaction consistency across deliverables.
  • Translate web-based experiences to alternate form factors (e.g., tablet and kiosk) where required.
  • Support the development and documentation of reusable UX patterns for the broader team.
  • Use AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Figma AI, AI prototyping and code-handoff agents) to accelerate ideation, generate and iterate on design variations, and build interactive prototypes, while critically evaluating AI output for quality, accessibility, and design-system fidelity.
  • Build foundational skills in accessibility (WCAG, Section 508) and inclusive, responsive design; incorporate accessibility considerations into all work.
  • Maintain clean, well-organized project files with clearly labeled pages and frames.
  • Attend UX sprint planning, reviews, stand-ups, and design-system cadences; participate in agile ceremonies.
  • Shadow and assist the UX Researcher on at least one research initiative (e.g., usability test, internal or external interview, A/B test).
  • Manage assigned tasks and tickets using Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence).
  • Present progress and final deliverables at scheduled board reviews (kickoff, mid-point, and final presentation).
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of design and prototyping tools such as Figma (primary), Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Familiarity with core UX principles, usability heuristics, and human-centered design.
  • Ability to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes at varying levels of fidelity.
  • Awareness of accessibility principles and standards (WCAG, Section 508).
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback constructively, and grow professionally.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design or prototyping tools (e.g., Figma AI/Make, AI coding or design agents such as Kiro, Cursor, or Claude) and an understanding of their strengths and limits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship, academic, or project experience in UX/UI design.
  • Exposure to design systems and component-based design (especially Material UI).
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to inform design feasibility.
  • Interest in or exposure to designing for security, biometrics, or government/regulated products.
  • Familiarity with responsive and multi-form-factor (web, tablet, kiosk) design.
