User Study Researcher II

Responsibilities

• Support planning and day-to-day execution of data collection and user studies, from initial bring-up through completion.
• Coordinate with external vendor teams on scheduling, staffing, training, and deployment.
• Track study progress, blockers, collected volume, risks, and deliverables; report status to the Data Operations team.
• Write and maintain setup documentation, collection protocols, SOPs, and deployment procedures.
• Set up and manage capture hardware and track device inventory across multiple concurrent studies.
• Support camera, image, and video capture workflows, including equipment readiness and troubleshooting.
• Partner with algorithms and technical teams on capture quality and data-quality reviews.
• Adjust collection targets and operational plans based on quality feedback.
• Support procurement workflows, including purchase order tracking and vendor quote review.
• Manage multiple concurrent studies and ensure timely completion of operational activities.

Qualifications

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in data collection, user studies, data operations, program management, lab/production coordination, or test/quality engineering.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or studies at different stages.
• Experience coordinating external vendors, technical teams, and operational stakeholders.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with hardware, equipment setup, inventory, or deployment operations.
• Experience with camera systems, photography, videography, or image/video capture workflows is a strong plus.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to track multiple priorities, blockers, and deliverables.
• Comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work with unreleased prototype hardware under strict confidentiality.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment.

Must-Haves

• 3+ years of experience in data collection, user studies, operations, program management, lab/production coordination, or test/quality engineering.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent studies/projects.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and triage skills.
• Experience with vendor coordination, documentation, and operational tracking.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Camera, photography, videography, or image/video capture experience.
• Aviation camera/image-capture workflow experience.
• Capture hardware setup and device inventory management.
• Experience partnering with algorithms/engineering teams on data or capture quality.
• Procurement, PO tracking, or vendor quote experience.
• Experience working with prototype or unreleased hardware.
