User Study Researcher II

Job Title: User Study Researcher II 
Schedule: Onsite, 40 hours/week
Employment Type: 1 year contract

Compensation: $58-60/hr W2

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Collection Operations Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and management of data collection initiatives. This role will work closely with internal engineering and algorithm teams, as well as external vendor partners, to ensure successful data capture operations, maintain quality standards, and support operational logistics across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and day-to-day execution of data collection studies from project kickoff through completion.
• Coordinate with external vendors on scheduling, staffing, onboarding, and training requirements.
• Monitor study progress, track blockers, and report collection status, metrics, and data volume to internal stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, and update collection protocols, setup documentation, and deployment guides.
• Set up and configure capture hardware while managing and tracking device inventory across multiple active studies.
• Partner with engineering and algorithm teams to review capture quality and adjust collection targets based on feedback and performance metrics.
• Assist with procurement activities, including purchase order tracking, vendor quote review, and operational budgeting support.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements when handling sensitive projects and unreleased hardware.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in data collection operations, program management, production coordination, lab operations, test engineering, quality engineering, or a related field.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable handling confidential information and working with unreleased prototype hardware.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with camera systems, photography, videography, or image/video capture workflows.
• Familiarity with hardware testing, data annotation, data collection, or machine learning datasets.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating external resources.
• Knowledge of inventory management and operational tracking processes.
