Professional and financial advancement!About Our ClientOur client is a well-established civil construction contractor specializing in utility infrastructure, site development, excavation, drainage, water, sewer, and stormwater projects throughout Northern New Jersey. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Estimator to support bidding and preconstruction efforts from their Jersey City area operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator looking to advance their career with a respected contractor delivering critical infrastructure projects across the region.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesReview plans, specifications, and bid documents for utility and civil construction projects.Perform quantity takeoffs for water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, drainage, excavation, and sitework scopes.Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.Participate in project walkthroughs, pre-bid meetings, and site visits.Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients.Assist with value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Work collaboratively with operations teams to ensure smooth project handoffs after award.Qualifications3-7 years of estimating experience within civil construction, utilities, sitework, or infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of underground utility construction including water, sewer, stormwater, and drainage systems.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating.Proficiency with Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, Agtek, or similar estimating software preferred.Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.Preferred QualificationsExperience estimating projects for municipalities, public agencies, or private developers.Familiarity with NJDOT, county, and local utility projects.Knowledge of utility installation methods, excavation operations, and site development practices.Understanding of current labor, material, and equipment costs in the New Jersey market.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
